Venice

Sadly, my time in Italy is winding down. I am trying my best to fit everything in during these last couple weeks that I have left as well as finish up my schoolwork. Earlier on in our time here, Christine, Christine and Megan all visited Venice and since we were not traveling anywhere this weekend, Tina and I decided to take advantage of a Saturday off and go ourselves. We picked the perfect time to do it, too. We had beautiful weather and we were able to roam around Venice at our own pace with no worries. We arrived in Venice around 12:30 and took the ferry on the Grand Canal over to the San Marco area, which is the main square in town. We spent the whole day wandering around, going in and out of shops and stopping to take photos along the way.

Tina really wanted to buy a hat and when we first got to Venice, we started looking for one. At the first place we stopped at I saw one hat and just tried it on, because why not? As soon as I put it on, I knew I had to get it. I was already wearing my own hat that I had brought, but I needed this one. And as if my own intuition wasn't enough, there was a lady standing there watching me and she looked at me and goes, "That hat was made for you and I don't say that to anyone. You have to get that." She went on and on about how I had to buy that hat. I put it on and she said "I'm taking your picture to send to my girlfriends and I am going to tell them you are a model from Venezuela". So, needless to say, I bought the hat. Sadly, Tina never found one she liked haha.

About halfway through our day, we took a gondola ride because you can't go to Venice and NOT ride a gondola.

Without even knowing, we had walked all the way back to the train station and since we still had a couple hours before our train left, we relaxed by the water and enjoyed the last bit of our day. Everything went perfectly and Tina and I had the best day together. Thanks, Venice. You exceeded every expectation that I had and then some.

Also, this happened this weekend. Never thought I would leave the United States single and come back taken. #blessed
